REPORTS EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
5G Focus Group:
CSPs Ready 5G Backhaul Sans Clear Vendor Relationships

Although nearly half of the participants in our latest Thought Leadership Council (TLC) forum say their companies will have 5G-ready backhaul in place by 2020, almost none of those communications service providers (CSPs) have made a final decision on which vendors they will use for that backhaul upgrade.

Although nearly half of the participants in our latest Thought Leadership Council (TLC) forum say their companies will have 5G-ready backhaul in place by 2020, almost none of those communications service providers (CSPs) have made a final decision on which vendors they will use for that backhaul upgrade.

Our panelists say their companies are investing in 5G backhaul: Just under half of this month's panelists say their companies have set aside up to 15 percent of the capex budget solely for 5G backhaul.

The focus group covered in 5G Focus Group: CSPs Ready 5G Backhaul Sans Clear Vendor Relationships was asked 10 questions to ascertain deployment plans, assess vendors, budgets and obstacles for 5G backhaul. The results clearly indicate that CSPs have a good grasp of and are well on their way toward deploying 5G backhaul despite not having made firm choices of the vendors they'll use for those deployments.
